The Brain of Your Mobile Phone: SIM

The SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card is about the size of a postage stamp, with embedded circuitry on one side. When inserted into a GSM handset the SIM facilitates mobile service on a particular GSM network.

The SIM card contains initial information to your mobile phone service – your mobile number and the features or services available to you, as a subscriber, on a particular GSM network.

Your SIM Card references:
  • Phone number assigned to your mobile account
  • Security information to connect to our network or another mobile operator’s
  • Personal phone book
  • Email and Text Message storage
